Custom casework - The main focus of the renovation was to create a greater sense of continuity between the living and dining space. This was achieved through the custom casework. An uninterrupted wood credenza connects both spaces harmoniously as well as functionally. The space is now expansive and open. The renovation included redoing the wood floor, remodeling the existing kitchen, redesigning the existing closet, as well as incorporating a custom credenza.
Slice Lab was part of the 2015 Autodesk Residency Program at Pier 9. During our stay there, we focused mainly on pushing the limits of the 3D printing capabilities within the Jewelry making process using the Autodesk Ember 3D Printer. During that period, we developed 4 jewelry collections inspired by the suspended weightlessness of delicate marine life. After studying the motion patterns of sea creatures, we captured and designed digital forms that were then actualized by the printer. The prints were used to create silver casts for the final products that were then polished and finished to create a stunning suite of jewelry pieces.
